Earlier this month, Ohio University in Athens tried out a program through which students can donate meals to fellow students in need, Athens News reports.

During the first week of October, the pilot’s duration, 497 meals were donated through the program, dubbed Bobcats Helping Bobcats.

Ten of those meals have already been given to student recipients, Ohio University spokesman Jim Sabin told Athens News, noting that the school’s Culinary Services department would meet next month to figure out the program’s future.

Students who are approved as meal recipients after filling out an online application get the meals loaded straight onto their student IDs. Donated meals may only be redeemed during the semester in which they are received.
