In an effort to provide its patients and staff with healthier food options, Regions Hospital has debuted its new cafeteria, Café 640.
Café 640, named after the hospital’s address, has eliminated all fryers and instead offers a build-your-own entree bar, sugar-free beverage options, a full soup and salad bar, fresh fruits and vegetables, and the new YumMarket station, which is designed to provide “tasty, good-for-you foods,” hospital officials say.
“Providing better-for-you options to our patients, families and our guests is an extension of our overall goal, which is to provide a healing environment to the community we serve,” Steve Kroeker, Regions’ food and nutrition director, said in a statement.
