A kindergartener has raised $80 to go toward school meal debt by selling hot cocoa, cider and cookies, The Hill reports.

The money is enough to pay back the negative lunch balances of 123 of her fellow students at Breeze Hill Elementary School in Vista, Calif. The 5-year-old is planning to set up another hot cocoa stand this weekend to raise enough funds to eliminate all the negative lunch balances in the entire school district. Other community members inspired by her project are planning to set up their own stands. Fundly page was created to raise additional funds and has received more than $800 so far.

Meal debt continues to be a problem for many school districts in the country. As negative lunch balances climb, many local community members and organizations have stepped in to donate funds to cover overdue lunch balances.
