Kentucky lawmakers advance breakfast after the bell bill

The bill would allow districts to offer breakfast to students during the first 15 minutes of instruction time.

Kentucky lawmakers have advanced a bill that would allow students to eat breakfast at school during instruction time.

Under the current version of Senate Bill 151, superintendents at districts that participate in the School Breakfast Program could permit students to have breakfast at school during the first 15 minutes of instruction time.

Students would be able to eat breakfast in either the classroom or cafeteria.
