Harvard and dining staff reach tentative agreement

Nearly three weeks into a foodservice strike, the union representing Harvard’s dining workers has reached a tentative agreement with the Cambridge, Mass., university, Time reports.

The agreement—the full details of which have yet to be released—will be presented to a 30-member subcommittee on Tuesday before it’s taken to a larger vote the following day. If the deal passes, employees could be back in the dining halls as soon as Thursday.

Harvard has contended with the ongoing strike by staffing on-campus eateries with volunteers—a move that drew student complaints—and adding $25 to student accounts that can be used for food off campus.
