Every school in the Cincinnati Public Schools district has received a salad bar at no charge, reports the Produce Retailer.
Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools donated the first four salad bars in 2010 and another four schools received salad bars in 2011, according to officials.
For the last 47 schools in the district, Jessica Shelley—foodservice director at CPS—received donations, grants and partnerships to fund the bars.
“When the kids come through and say ‘Cool, you’ve got radishes on the salad bar again,’ you know you’re having an impact,” Shelley told the Retailer.
