District hosts free farmers market over the summer

Lexington-Richland School District Five in Irmo, S.C., has started a free weekly farmers market for families in the district during the summer, WLTX 19 reports.

Each family that attends can receive one free bag of a variety of fresh produce. The district partnered with a local farm to supply the produce, which includes cucumbers, sweet corn, tomatoes and more.

The district also provides free meals to kids 18 and under throughout the summer as part of its summer meals program.
