Cornell University hosted its first-ever World Cuisine Night to celebrate the diversity of its community, according to the school’s website.
Students spent $10 or one meal swipe to access 10 dining rooms on the Ithaca, N.Y., campus, each of which served a different type of international fare.
The cuisines offered included Asian, Middle Eastern, North African, Pacific Rim and American comfort food.
To encourage participants to visit all of the dining rooms, the school handed out passports that were stamped at each eatery. Students could turn in fully stamped passports for the chance to win a prize.
A review of the event in Cornell’s student newspaper noted that the evening was an “amazing deal” and a solid concept, but offered some ideas for improvement should the event become a regular one.
