In-class breakfast helps reduce behavioral issues

Since Perrymont Elementary School launched its free in-class breakfast program, participation has increased 43 percent and disciplinary referrals have dropped 32 percent, WDBJ7.com reports.

"It's more relaxed for them and we're starting the day on a more positive note. The transition from eating to learning is now smoother and has kept students calm and well behaved,” Page Miller, a teacher at PES, told the website. The program was added earlier this year.
