Brigham and Women’s Hospital is renovating its cafeteria, giving the space a whole new layout in an effort to streamline customer throughput and boost satisfation.
The newly named Garden Cafe will include an expanded dining area that seats 292, as well as other enhancements, such as a yogurt and juice bar and an infused water station, reports Healthcare Design Magazine.
Officials at the Boston hospital say they hope the revamped space, which is expected to open its doors in September, will improve the experience of patients and their families.
“Nutrition and environment play key roles in overall well-being,” Susan Langill, the hospital’s director of food services, told the magazine. “With varied seating options, more natural light and views of the added garden, the dining room will be a welcome area for folks to unwind.”
