House Democrats have introduced the Heroes Act, which would provide emergency funding for school nutrition programs across the country as they continue to deal with rising costs due to COVID-19.

If passed, the bill would provide $3 billion to school nutrition programs to help them cover expenses associated with grab-and-go meal pick-up and delivery, such as packaging and meal transportation.

Other nutrition programs such as Women, Infants and Children (WIC) and the Supplemental Food Assistance Program (SNAP) would also be provided with additional funding.
