2. The Red Bird
The St. Louis Cardinals turned to fans to come up with a new menu item to be served at Busch Stadium this season. The Red Bird, submitted by a fan as part of the “Fan Food Challenge,” was chosen after weeks of voting. The sandwich features a breaded chicken breast tossed in Buffalo sauce and topped with cheese and ranch dressing.
3. Caribbean grilled chicken salad
Aramark seeks to appeal to health-conscious baseball fans with a Caribbean grilled chicken salad, one of its Better For You menu items. The salad features a mix of romaine lettuce, marinated black beans, orange segments, pickled red onions, shredded carrots and toasted coconut, and is topped with a honey lime vinaigrette.
4. 1060 Wit
Chicago’s Wrigley Field partnered with local brewery Goose Island to create a signature beer for the home team. Named after the ballpark’s street address, 1060 Wit is a Belgian wit made with wheat, orange peel and coriander. The beer will be available at Wrigley Field starting on the Cubs’ opening night, April 10.
6. Local Brews
As part of a complete menu overhaul, Miller Lite Stadium in Milwaukee debuted a Local Brews bar. As its name suggests, the bar will offer 24 beers from Wisconsin, including Cherry Wheat from Hinterland Brewery in Green Bay and Citrus Happy from Milwaukee Brewing Company.
