Consumers tend to eat the healthiest at breakfast, with 46% saying that the morning meal is when they make more healthful food choices, per the Technomic report. They skew toward the most indulgent eats when snacking, a time during which just 19% say they eat more healthfully.
When it comes to health cues, natural components resonate most with consumers: 57% say they look for natural ingredients when seeking healthy items on menus. Thirty-five percent say they seek foods under a certain calorie threshold, and 31% aim for organic.
