University sells produce to Chartwells

In an effort to improve students’ health, the University of North Florida is selling campus-grown produce to its foodservice provider, Chartwells, reports wjct.org.

The university says it’s the first in the state to sell produce to its food vendor.

Fruits and vegetables from the garden are also donated to an on-campus student pantry, and are given to students who volunteer to work in the garden as well, according to the website.
