University meal plans could be affected by soda tax

Students at Temple University in Philadelphia may see an increase in meal plan prices due to the city’s new sugary drink tax, The Temple News reports.

The tax, which goes into effect at the start of 2017, will increase the price of sweetened beverages such as sodas and sports drinks by 1.5 cents per ounce.
