University to choose sole foodservice provider

West Virginia University is reducing its multiple foodservice distributors to one, reports The Daily Athenaeum.

Officials say the decision would help WVU save money on purchasing and delivery costs. Currently Sysco, Gordon Food Service and Reinhart Foodservice provide food to the campus’ dining facilities and vending machines.

"We would have more efficiency dealing with one vendor and get lower costs for the items we’re purchasing," David Beaver, assistant vice president of PCPS and chief procurement officer, told the Daily.
