Seattle hospital chef aims to serve gourmet food

Since Seattle Children's Hospital head chef Ryan Garcia joined the team in 2014, his goal has been to transform hospital food into a gourmet experience, reports Q13FOX.com.

To help accomplish that goal, the hospital’s new Forest kitchen will open in the fall of 2016. Officials say the kitchen will offer made-to-order menus.

According to Chef Garcia, the challenge for him and his team is to provide the children in the hospital with “good, healthy food to thrive,” as part of his focus is to create meals for children with immune deficiencies and chemotherapy.

"They're getting the best quality care, so we want to give them the best quality food," Garcia told the news website.
