School district introduces branded sack lunch

Baldwin County Schools has rolled out a new lunch option, Super Sacks, in an effort to provide students with a variety of meal items.

Currently, the cold lunch alternative—which includes milk, yogurt, cheese sticks, fruit and whole grain chips or crackers—has been implemented at all of the Milledgeville, Ga.-based district’s elementary schools three days per week, reports unionrecorder.com.

The alternative lunch has not replaced the hot meal option, and its components comply with federal nutrition standards, officials say.
