Klamath Union High School has rolled out a food cart in an effort to provide flexible lunch options for students who want to leave campus during lunch, reports the Herald and News.
Officials at the Klamath Falls, Ore., high school say the food cart is an extension of its cafeteria, and specifically aims to reach students who participate in the free and reduced-price lunch program. Meal options include salads, two cold meals, two hot items and a chicken sandwich with fries.
“My concern is ... that they’re going off with their buddies during lunch,” Kathy Cole, the school’s foodservice director, told the website. “I want to make sure we are offering something as they leave campus on the opposite side of the cafeterias.”
