How one district ensures students have enough time for lunch

In an effort to ensure all students have enough time to eat lunch, Pulaski County Special School District has added more cashiers to its lunch lines, arkansasmatters.com reports.

Officials say they have also hired monitors to make sure students eat more and chat less after they’ve taken their seats, and to make sure students are happy with the meals being served.

“This lunch is probably the healthiest meal they’ll receive all day because we’re careful about sodium intake and calories, really careful about making sure they get that whole grain so they stay fuller longer,” Regena English, the district’s nutrition director, told the website.
