Food trucks removed from Yale campus

Food trucks operating near Yale University were asked to shut down Wednesday, when city officials told operators they could no longer park in their current locations, according to The Yale Daily News.

The city’s building department also gave some operators copies of the New Haven, Conn., food-truck vendor ordinances, citing violations, reports the News.

The Caseus Cheese Truck has operated near the campus for six years, co-owner Tom Sobocinski told the News, adding that it’s the first time they have been told not to sell on the street.

“We’ve never had a problem,” Sobocinski said. “I know that there are a lot more trucks in the past year than we have had previously. The only rule I was aware of was that you can’t park within 45 feet of a brick-and-mortar establishment.”
