FDA delays menu labeling a year

The Food & Drug Administration announced today that it is delaying enforcement of menu-labeling requirements for chain restaurants for a year, to Dec. 1, 2016.

The agency acknowledged that aspects of the law, a component of the Affordable Care Act, had to be clarified before the mandates could take effect.

A delay had been requested by the National Restaurant Association and other trade groups.
