District begins offering free meals to law enforcement

Eastmont School District in East Wenatchee, Wash., is offering free breakfast and lunch to local and regional law enforcement, iFiber One reports.

Area police, sheriffs, and state patrol and wildlife officers have the option to sit and eat with their peers, faculty members and students or grab their food to go.

The district says that the free meals are meant to increase campus safety, help officers familiarize themselves with the schools and provide a way for students to develop relationships with the officers.
