Dartmouth Public Schools ramps up menu offerings

Students at Dartmouth Public Schools in Dartmouth, Mass., have a variety of new menu options this school year, SouthCoast Today reports.

At elementary schools this fall, students can grab 12 varieties of boxed "fun lunches" that include items such as yogurt, raisins, a cheese stick and a whole-grain bagel with cream cheese. Students who purchase lunch can also enjoy unlimited local fruits and vegetables at a farmers market station.

Middle schoolers, who have a similar produce concept renamed the "extras bar," can also enjoy fresh entrees from the grill.

At the district’s high school, students can top their meals with different condiments at the condiment station, grab smoothies out of a beverage machine and choose from five daily pizza options. The district is also working on a build-your-own bar station that will offer customizable dishes that will change weekly.
