Conde Nast employees urged to tweet/Instagram about new cafeteria

NEW YORK — Snapping photos of your food is not only back en Vogue in the Conde Nast cafeteria – it’s required.

In an effort to promote its swanky new cafeteria at One World Trade Center, Conde Nast is encouraging its employees to share Instagram photos and post tweets of the elite eatery using the hashtag #CondeCafeteria.

According to Page Six, the media company's top fashion editors were overheard at New York Fashion week shows discussing the 'corporate nudge' to 'generate buzz' for the luxurious cafeteria – which already has its own dedicated Instagram account.

Last week, Glamour's Online Editor-at-Large Danica Lo shared a photo of a sign in the cafeteria, which read: 'Instagram Me! Upload photos using the hashtag #condecafeteria.'

The sign also prompted staffers to follow the canteen’s own account - @cafe1wtc – on Instagram.

She captioned the picture: 'Even our caf has a social media strategy #CondeCafeteria.'

Of course, the lunchroom at One World Trade Center isn't just any old cafeteria.

In addition to its sleek spiral staircase, there has already been a celebrity appearance or two.

A couple of weeks ago, the cafeteria shared an Instagram photo of popstar Kesha's visit, writing: 'Looks like @iiswhoiis is loving the #CondeCafeteria, too! Thanks for stopping by @voguemagazine.'

And it appears as though Conde Nast's social media plugs may be working.

Although the cafeteria only has a mere 95 Instagram followers, the hashtag #condecafeteria has been used on nearly 600 posts.

Earlier today, Kaitlin Menza, the Senior Features Editor and Online Deputy Editor at Teen Vogue, posted a tweet about the cafeteria's decadent brussels sprouts.

'Guys there's chocolate and bacon glazed brussel[s] sprouts on the #condecafeteria menu for today how am I supposed to wait/concentrate on work,' she wrote.
A week earlier, Ms Menza shared the news that had she run into a famous writer while waiting in line.
