Many Boston College dining workers will soon see a pay boost, as the school this week increased its minimum hourly wage for dining services staff, BC’s website reports.
The new minimum wage for BC's dining team is $16.50, a figure that was decided upon after the school’s Human Resources Compensation Team compared BC Dining Services wages to other foodservice departments at colleges in Boston.
Close to 66% of the college’s dining workers will see their wages go up due to the change, the website says, quoting BC’s vice president for human resources as calling the dining staff “unsung heroes on campus.”’
