Sodexo at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette overbilled the university over several years, provided free catering to a former university director and gave university employees free meals in exchange for cleaning services and football tickets, according to a state audit released Monday and reported by The Advocate.
The Louisiana Legislative Auditor's Office investigated the university's foodservice provider after a UL internal audit raised allegations of misappropriating funds.
Key findings of the audit indicate that UL was overcharged nearly $5,500 for tailgating events by Sodexo from 2009 to 2013.
