We have two urban school districts, and partnered with two rural districts to broaden the lives we could affect with our Farm to School grant. In the urban area, students are very low income and struggle with food insecurity issues, and many don’t even know where food comes from. The rural school districts are coming to the grant with more expertise. The USDA was really proud of us, because they’ve never seen anyone submit that kind of partnership
as part of their grant proposal.
