We cross-train our staff for patient interactions that fall outside their sphere of influence, such as checking trash, room cleanliness, etc. We ask them to respond in front of the patient to get it taken care of, rather than leave it for janitorial staff, for example. We call it Code Wow and we’ve seen our patient satisfaction scores improve as a result.
