Moldaw Residences in Palo Alto, Calif., has incorporated table management software that allows residents to use a mobile app to request a specific time for meals, indicate how large their party is and view the menu. Those who would rather not dine in can also choose to pick up their meal or have it delivered to their residence. Neville John, Moldaw’s director of dining services, says the new features have allowed his staff to serve residents more efficiently.
“The capacity of our dining room is 135 guests, and most evenings we serve closer to 160,” he says. “At times, this led to some residents waiting for a table, especially at peak hours. This software allows us to space out our service, greatly reducing the wait times for residents and allowing dining staff to prepare each table in advance of their arrival.”
