Nick Valenti and Joachim Splichal of Patina Restaurant Group have joined with Bunker Hill Capital, L.P. to acquire The Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group, Inc. Valenti is CEO and Spichal is chef and founder of Patina, which now comprises the former commercial restaurant division of Restaurant Associates taken private from former parent Compass Group by Valenti and Spichal last year. Patina operates some three dozen restaurants, primarily in New York and Los Angeles, including famous properties like Brasserie, Cafe Centro, Naples 45, Tropica Bar & Seafood House, Cucina & Company and the Rock Center Café in Manhattan and Patina in Los Angeles.
