In this episode of FM On Demand with Tara Fitzpatrick, we get to know UConn Dining’s new Executive Director Mike White. As we find out, he’s anything but “new” or “green,” since he’s been working his way up for decades, building up education (he has degrees in economics and psychology) and hands-on experience as he went. While he may have heard the well-meaning “You have big shoes to fill,” referring to the previous dining director, he’s quick to say he’s got his own shoes, thank you very much. We talk about leadership and his vision for the future of UConn’s dining program, which is nationally recognized as one of the most innovative. As a father, he’s proud that his two kids are now attending UConn and starting their own lives.
