Vegan students petition for university food station

A group of vegetarian and vegan students at Loyola Marymount University are petitioning Sodexo to install a new food station on campus.

Turn healthy eating into a game

[To promote healthier eating], Aultman Hospital invites guests to guess the weight of their salad. Guess within a certain range, and it’s free.

The Colby Café, created by the Colby Coffee Club, will be a student-run cafe that operates six hours per day, Thursday through Sunday nights.

Anyone under age 20 could be paid a lower rate.

The university estimates it will buy 180,000 pounds per year.

Dining halls are also being sanitized to prevent the toll of infected students from soaring past 120.

Employees who work during the holidays receive a $6 dining-facility credit. Staffers can use it to pick up items to help spend less time in the kitchen.

The Massachusetts Restaurant Association named Keze Whitlow, cook at Boston College, its 2015 Line Chef of the Year.

There has also been an increase in vegan desserts.

The program pivots on kitchen rationalization.
