We started a marketing campaign called Team Nutrition. We wanted to increase our participation but, more important, to reduce the amount of healthy items that kids were throwing away. Students don’t care about your resumé or the number of years of experience you have. When it comes to selling broccoli, we thought this campaign would be a better way to sell it than it coming from the foodservice director. We developed five Team Nutrition characters. These characters will be used in signage, on our website and on Facebook to promote good nutrition.
