Phoenix-area hospitals partner for organic farm

Sept. 24—Cancer Treatment Centers of America at Western Regional Medical Center and McClendon’s Select are partnering to create a hospital farm that will provide patients, caregivers, employees and community members in the Phoenix area with organic produce.

Peoria-based McClendon’s Select has been supplying CTCA with organic produce from its family-owned farm since 2009. It now will manage a new 25-acre farm on the CTCA campus in Goodyear. The first planting will begin in early November, with the first harvest scheduled for Dec. 15.
