Salisbury Steak Italiano

An elevated take on spaghetti and meatballs, this dish uses ground beef, bread crumbs, Tabasco sauce, onions, green peppers and Parmesan cheese to create a satisfying Italian feast.

Ingredients

10 lb. ground beef
2 cups bread crumbs
6 eggs
2 tbsp. Original Tabasco Pepper Sauce, divided
11⁄2 qt. water
1 tbsp. salt
8 oz. grated Parmesan cheese
1 lb. + 4 oz. chopped onions
1 lb. + 4 oz. chopped green peppers
1 cup vegetable oil
2 gal. tomato sauce
2 tbsp. crushed oregano
1 tbsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
Spaghetti as needed
Parsley for garnish
Parmesan cheese for garnish

Methods/Steps

1. Combine beef, bread crumbs, eggs, 1 tbsp. pepper sauce, water, salt and Parmesan. Shape into 4-oz. oval patties. Grill or broil.

2. Sauté onions and green peppers in oil. Add tomato sauce, oregano, 1 tbsp. pepper sauce, salt and sugar. Simmer for 1 hour.

3. For each serving: Arrange cooked spaghetti on plate. Place cooked steak on spaghetti. Top with sauce. Garnish with parsley and grated Parmesan cheese.
