Chocolate Cupcakes

This recipe offers classic chocolate cupcakes with dark chocolate frosting.

Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour
11/2 cups cocoa powder
3 cups sugar
1 tbsp. baking soda
11/2 tsp. baking powder
11/2 tsp. salt
4 eggs
11/2 cups buttermilk
6 tbsp. oil
11/2 cups warm water

Frosting: Yield: 1 quart
14 oz. cream
6 oz. chocolate dark

Methods/Steps

1. Whisk together all dry ingredients in bowl. Place all liquids together in another bowl and combine.

2. Mix liquids into dry ingredients until smooth.

3. Fill paper-lined muffin pans halfway with batter. Bake at 350°F in for 30 mins.

4. For frosting: Bring cream to a boil and pour onto chocolate in mixing bowl. Mix until completely melted. Allow to chill before whipping. Be careful not to overwhip and use immediately.

5. Top cupcakes with frosting.
