This cheeseburger is a takeoff on the Philly Cheesesteak, incorporating that sandwich's iconic cheese, grilled peppers and onions into a burger topping.

Ingredients

6 patties (5- to 6-oz. each) Niman Ranch natural ground beef
6 sesame burger buns
3 green bell peppers, sliced into 1/2-in. strips
1 white onion, sliced into 1/2-in. strips
Olive oil
12 slices white American cheese

Steps

  1. Grill burger patties to desired doneness.
  2. While burgers are cooking, combine peppers and onions with 2 tbsp. olive oil. Place on grill and cook just until tender.
  3. Just before burgers are done, toast buns on grill. Place burgers on bottom buns; top with onions and peppers, followed by 2 slices cheese. Allow cheese to melt slightly. Top with second half of bun.

Orange County Community College in upstate New York is replacing its dining staff with vending machines , The Times Herald-Record reports.

The Orange County Community College Association, which oversees the school’s cafeterias, says the layoffs were partly due to a $150,000 deficit accumulated by foodservice operations last year.

Dining services turned to students to determine which type of mug would be offered. The college also installed a mug-washing sink in the dining Commons earlier this year.

to-go coffee

We have a fixed kiosk that not only sells coffee, but also protein smoothies, grab-and-go reimbursable meals and other a la carte items. We used updated equipment like what is used in Starbucks and incorporated school colors. It is a very popular addition to one of our high schools, and we are planning on expanding it to two additional high schools.
