Onion Herb Bread
A simple buttermilk bread is brightened up with the addition of onion, basil and dill.
1 1⁄2 cups Idaho-E. Oregon yellow onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp. butter
3 cups buttermilk baking mix
1 cup milk
1 tsp. basil
1 tsp. dill weed
1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, sauté onions in butter until tender.
2. In a separate bowl, combine baking mix, egg and milk. Add seasonings, cooked onions and mix until well blended.
3. Place batter into a greased 9x5-in. loaf pan or a 9-in. round pan and bake at 350° F 55-60 min.
