Northwest Honeyed Pears
This delightful baked pear is versatile. It can be served as a dessert, alongside a meat dish or as a breakfast paired with granola and yogurt. The lemon and honey make it light and refreshing.
Ingredients
1 1⁄2 #10 cans Pacific Northwest pear halves, drained
2 cups honey
2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp. cinnamon
Steps
- Preheat convection oven to 375°F (conventional oven to 400°F). Place pears cut side- up in single layer on spray- coated steam table pans.
- Mix honey, lemon juice, and cinnamon; drizzle over pears. Bake, uncovered, 30-40 min. or until liquid is syrupy. Let cool slightly.
- Spoon honey mixture over pears before serving. Serve as a side dish with meat loaf, baked chicken, or turkey burgers. Or serve as a breakfast entree with 1⁄2 cup flavored yogurt and 1⁄4 cup granola.
