We parsed through the streaming service’s current romantic movies and paired them up with dishes in our Recipedia to come up with matches made in foodservice heaven that are sure to be perfect for a Valentine’s promotion for folks in senior living, C&U or anyone else planning a menu and movie night.
1. Sweet & Sour Citrus Dough-Nuggets and '10 Things I Hate About You' (1999)
This modern retelling of Shakespeare’s “Taming of the Shrew” smashed the ‘90s teen comedy mold by being an actual really great movie. Julia Stiles’ Kat is four parts sour, one part sweet, making these bites—which feature both grapefruit and orange flavors—her perfect match.
2. Pineapple Sandwich with Vanilla Sauce and 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days' (2003)
Unlike “10 Things,” this “10” movie appeals to a less literary crowd. But it’s worth screening for two reasons: 1) A reminder that Matthew McConaughey wasn’t always known for his dramatic acting, and 2) Kate Hudson’s yellow dress. This stacked yellow dessert echoes the latter, with layers of pineapple, kiwi, berries and banana.
OK, OK, it’s technically a Christmas movie—but this rom-com about the crisscrossing lives of a bunch of bumbling Brits is entertaining no matter the season. Screen it with this classic English dessert, layered with your choice of fresh fruit, and your guests will be chattering away in hacky fake accents in no time.
4. Banana Peanut Butter Elvis Cake and 'The Last Five Years' (2014)
The chocolatey music notes adorning this cake will have your guests singing for more—even as they’re weeping into their plates over this musical about young love, jealousy, heartbreak and fame. Really, it’s nothing a little peanut butter and chocolate can’t cure.
5. Sticky Pecan Bars and 'While You Were Sleeping' (1995)
Sandra Bullock finds herself in quite the sticky situation in this Chicago-set rom-com that also stars Bill Pullman and Peter Gallagher. These pecan bars are easy to serve in single portions, and likewise will stick with guests long after the movie is over.
6. Molten Chocolate Cheesecake and 'Clueless' (1995)
Also based off a literary classic (Jane Austen’s “Emma”), “Clueless” finds heroine Alicia Silverstone trying to perfect everyone else’s lives while ignoring what’s going on beneath her own surface. She’d be baffled by this dessert, which hides a liquid layer of chocolate inside an ordinary cheesecake exterior.

7. Orange Mini Churros with Latin Dipping Sauces and 'Adventureland' (2009)
The story of two amusement park workers (Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart) who find love in an unexpected place, “Adventureland” has become a surprise cult favorite. These churros combine a carnival favorite with a spicy surprise—a cayenne-chocolate sauce.
