Vanderbilt caters to students with dietary restrictions

Although Nashville is known for many gluten-filled foods like pulled pork sandwiches, Vanderbilt University is meeting the needs of its students with dietary restrictions, according to the Vanderbilt Hustler.

The university offers meatless entree options at each of its 22 campus-dining locations, allows students to view product labels in the storeroom and orders gluten-free foods upon request to stock in designated allergen-free refrigerators.

To further avoid cross contamination, dining services allows students to make additional special arrangements, such as emailing a request for an allergen-free meal the night prior.
