Researchers at a Kansas State University campus are developing an emoji ballot that could help schools across the nation reduce school lunch waste, reports the Associated Press.
Officials say the use of emojis could help schools assess students’ reactions to school meals and enable them to select the foods students want to eat.
The goal is to create an emoji ballot that transcends language barriers and is applicable across different cultures and countries, says Marianne Swaney-Stueve, manager of the university’s Sensory and Consumer Research Center, where the research is being done.
