University expands healthy-eating program

In an effort to help students identify healthy foods, the University of Montana has expanded its Optimal Bear Approval (OBA) program.

The program, which was implemented in 2015, will debut in the campus’ corner store Monday, placing OBA stamps on select food items that promote healthy eating habits, reports the missoulian. Typically, the food items that are tagged are organic, all-natural, are limited in sugar and include no artificial color.

“The items that are OBA approved, by and large, are going to be the healthiest options available – meaning students can make quality food choices quickly, saving mental and physical energy for learning,” OBA coordinator Kayli Julius told the website.
