UMass’ new dining app points students to shortest lines

The University of Massachusetts has launched a new program that alerts students when dining halls are crowded, based on the number of transactions occurring at each location.

The app also feeds students information about daily menus, special dining events and more, according to the university’s online newspaper, The Daily Collegian.

Students are informed about traffic activity in each of the dining halls and campus eateries using a color-coded system—green represents “not busy,” orange is for “moderate” and red is for “busy.”
