S.D. school uses color cube to teach healthy eating
Feb. 24—To encourage elementary kids to try a greater variety of produce, Rita Dzintars, school nurse at Meadowbrook Elementary, in Rapid City, S.D., created an 8-1/2-foot inflatable color cube during the school's "Eat Your Colors ... But Not Your Crayons Week," according to the Rapid City Journal.
The week of healthy eating events is in its third year but the addition of the color cube was a new one for this year. The cube was made of the main healthy food colors and was large enough to hold a class of 30 students. During the week's events, students wore a selected color for the day, had a nutrition lessons and taste-tested inside the color cube.
