Salad bars grab spotlight in Tampa schools
Goal is to sell 400 or 500 salads a day.
Sept. 11—To help promote better nutrition, Hillsborough County public schools in Tampa, Fla., is set to roll out salad bars in each high school. A handful of schools have had them since last year, and they have been a hit with students. These aren't salad bars in the traditional sense. For sanitary reasons and for efficiency's sake, students check off on a piece of paper what items they want on their salad and cafeteria workers make it for them.
