Pa. university dining hall to get $3M makeover

In an effort to provide students with more dining options and streamline cafeteria throughput, Mercyhurst University is revamping Egan Dining Hall, reports Goerie.com.

The $3 million renovation will include new furniture and foodservice equipment, and also entails spacing food stations apart to boost efficiency, officials say. The dining hall will feature healthier, more diverse options, including an allergen-free station serving gluten-free items, among others.

The renovation is expected to be completed by the start of the fall semester.

"We know that today's students are focused on consumable amenities, and the biggest consumable amenity that students look for is a wonderfully appointed cafeteria," Michael Victor—president of the Erie, Pa., school—told the website.
