NJ school district puts an end to lunch deliveries

Ridgewood school district sent a letter to end outside lunch delivery due to illegal parking, cluttered hallways and delivery to the wrong students.

Jan. 13—A new school district rule that bans lunch deliveries from outside vendors to Ridgewood schools, effective next week, has stirred up discontent among parents pressed for time, local businesses who already have hundreds of orders, and students who just want a tasty lunch.

The district's new regulation, which was announced in a letter sent to parents Monday after notice was given to local food vendors, is meant to address issues resulting from the large number of Ridgewood students choosing to order outside lunches rather than bring from home or eat food from the district's provider.
