Tony Almeida, director of food, nutrition, environmental and host services at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J., and president of GNJSHFSA, said the donation was in response to the current economic times and wanting to give back as a profession. “The board of directors felt that donating to the food bank was a great alignment with the Greater New Jersey Society for Healthcare Food Service Administrators’ mission and it would be a great fit with our profession,” Almeida added.

More than 160 foodservice professionals attended the annual educational seminar, which was themed “Survivor N.J.” Topics covered at the session included cost-saving initiatives, thriving today and marketing your brand.
